What Rivon does
- 01Checks eligibility and the fastest route per state — direct state application or the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) for eligible physicians.
- 02Collects documents once and reuses them for every state; prepares and submits each application.
- 03Coordinates primary source verifications, fingerprints and board follow-ups, and reports status by state.
- 04Registers federal DEA and state controlled-substance registrations where required, and prescriptive authority for NPs and PAs.
- 05Tracks every license and DEA expiration afterwards and handles renewals.
IMLC help for physicians
The IMLC lets eligible physicians apply once through a state of principal license and then obtain licenses from other member states. Rivon checks eligibility, files the letter of qualification request and then each member-state license, each priced like a new state license (per request).
What Rivon does not do
Rivon does not control board, IMLC, DEA or payer timelines and does not guarantee approval. What a specialist removes is the paperwork, the follow-up and the errors that cause rework.
Prefer to run it in-house?
The same licensing pipelines are available in the Rivon platform for your own team (Free up to 6 providers; paid plans up to $1,499/mo).
Frequently asked questions
Who can handle multi-state medical licensing for our providers?
Rivon Health's licensing specialists handle state licenses, IMLC, DEA and prescriptive authority for physicians, NPs, PAs and dentists in every US jurisdiction, priced per request ($600 per request per new license). Telehealth companies, multi-state groups and locums agencies use it.
How much does a multi-state licensing service cost?
At Rivon, $600 per request for each new state or IMLC license, $150 per request for each state or DEA renewal and $200 per request for prescriptive authority. Government fees are separate. Volume packages are available.
Can Rivon help with the IMLC?
Yes. Rivon checks IMLC eligibility, requests the letter of qualification through the state of principal license and then files each member-state license.
How long does multi-state licensing take?
It depends on each board. Rivon's state guides list typical review times; a complete, error-free application is the most reliable way to avoid delays. Rivon does not guarantee board timelines.
Does Rivon handle DEA registration for telehealth prescribers?
Yes — federal DEA registration in each state where the provider prescribes, plus state controlled-substance registrations where required. Renewals are $150 per request.
